Name: Thornpaw but in the book Thornclaw was made an apprentice before the fight, so I hope that's alright.
"Attack!" Thornclaw could hear Scourge screech.
"Lionclan, attack!" That was the last Thornclaw saw of Firestar's flaming pelt.
Whitestorm surged forward and so did the rest of his Clanmates, he followed them into battle still unsure of what laid ahead. Fighting moves rushed through his head as he looked around for a victim. But something hit him before he could locate a weaker cat. Thornclaw rolled and felt the weight of a bigger cat on him, he gathered all his strength and pushed the cat off him and rolled onto him. He moved his hind legs across the cat's belly and slashed at his throat then leaped off. Feeling confidence and energy run through him, Thornclaw darted forward to strike his enemy again but another Bloodclan cat hit him before he could do any damage. Once again he rolled over with the other cat but this time he went limp. The cat yowled in victory but Thornclaw grinned and dug his hind legs into the cat's soft belly. He staggered away and in the heartbeat that he would turn and face Thornclaw again, Thornclaw launched himself at the cat and held on for his life. He bit into the vile cat's scruff and caught glimpses of his Clanmates fighting around him. But before Thornclaw could do anything else he was thrown off and flung into another enemy invader.
"Gorsepaw! Gors..." He could hear a queen crying for her kit but her calls were drowned out by the furious snarl coming from the cat towering above him.
There was a flash of white fur and Thornclaw looked up to see Whitestorm battling with the cat that could have taken his life. He was quick to step in and help Whitestorm with this troublesome cat. First, Thornclaw bit his hind legs and Whitestorm slashed at his muzzle. Then, it all happened blindly, a smaller cat crashed into Thornclaw and they went tumbling. Long, dog claws dug into his shoulder and when he looked up he was staring into the deep cold eyes of Scourge.
"Starclan is on our side and you will soon find out their powers they hold!" Thornclaw growled then without warning threw Scourge off. He was now on a rampage and charged at a Bloodclan cat, but he stopped dead when he saw the same flame colored pelt he had seen every sunrise of his life laying on the ground. Scourge ripped at his throat and Firestar's pelt was turning scarlet as the blood gushed out of his throat. He stared in horror and shock but was brought back to awareness when a muscular body bowled into him. He knew it was over but something inside him said Don't give up, Starclan is and always will be with you no matter what happens! And that is what kept Thornclaw on the string of life, hearing his precious Leader's voice speaking to him, that one line could have played over and over again in his head. But Thornclaw pushed all his questions and comments aside and heard the word Retreat in his head.
"Retreat!" he screamed like this was the one word that would save his life, and it was the one word that would save his life. After battling for a few heartbeats with the Bloodclan cat he dragged himself towards the bushes and looked back for only a mere second to absorb the fight. Cats' bodies were lying on the floor drenched in blood, he saw Firestar's, Whitestorm's, and other unidentifiable bodies lying on the ground. He blinked back the tears he knew was coming and gulped them down, the clearing was filled of Bloodclan cats yowling in victory. They were still fighting some clan cats and taunting them about Starclan never coming back to help them. When Thornclaw saw two Shadowclan apprentices limping side-by-side he walked as fast as he could to catch up to them. He slid in between them and they leaned against his shoulders. They acted as if they were in the same clan, and somehow Thornclaw knew they would soon end up in the same clan. Together they walked as fast as their injuries would let them and began their journey to the Moonstone along with several other cats, either in front of him or only a few tail lengths behind him.
